In traditional multi-storey construction, a load-bearing structure is first erected, then the building is completed by adding walls and installations. This is a labour and time intensive process prone to weather delays and damage.
The bPod system makes significant savings by reversing this procedure. Room-sized “pods”, complete with interior finishing and insulation, are built in a factory and the only work required on the building site is setting up and connecting the pods.
When placed in contact, the insulation panels between the bPods form cavities which are filled with concrete, creating the load-bearing columns and beams. This way the bPods act as permanent shuttering for the load bearing structure.
The name “bPod®” is short for “build pod”, the room sized unit at the heart of our patented building technology.
